96% needed on remaining work
Points-based grading
Current grade = Σ earned ÷ Σ possible. Needed score = target% × (completed + remaining points) − earned.
Convert weighted categories into raw points before entering them for the most accurate results.
How to use
- Enter each assessment with its earned and possible points.
- Set a target grade and how many points remain in the course.
- Read your current percentage, letter grade, and the score required on what's left.
Example
Input: Homework 45/50, Midterm 84/100, Quiz 18/20, Target = 90% with 100 points remaining
Output: Current grade ≈ 86.5% (B), Need ≈ 96/100 on remaining work
FAQ & notes
How do weighted categories fit in?
Convert each category into its point contribution (e.g., 20% of 1,000 points = 200 points). Then add assignments within that point pool.
What if there are no points left?
Set remaining points to 0 and the calculator will simply report the current grade and note that the target is already secured or unattainable.
